Product videos that keep up with the product
ScreenCI makes product videos and screenshots that update themselves when your product changes. Describe the video you want, and a narrated walkthrough of your real app is recorded for you. Edit the narration in the browser, translate it into 79 languages, and re-record with one click after every release.
Why we built it
We have worked on teams where the product outgrew its videos. Every release added features that customers never heard about, and every improvement to the interface meant the old walkthroughs showed a product that no longer existed. Re-recording took days, so it rarely happened, and the videos quietly went stale.
We wanted a video that behaves like the rest of the product: it is made once, and it keeps up from then on. With ScreenCI anyone on the team describes the video in a sentence, the walkthrough is recorded against the real app, and the narration, subtitles, and translations are edited in the browser. When the product changes, one click records the same walkthrough again with the new interface, and every language version follows.
Engineering teams can go one step further. Each video is also a script that can live in the code repository and run automatically on every release, so the videos refresh without anyone remembering to do it.
How we build
Made once, kept current
A video is recorded from a reusable walkthrough of your app, not a one-off screen capture. When the product changes, the same walkthrough is recorded again, so the video stays accurate without starting over.
Recording stays local
The recorder runs on your machine or in your CI. Your source code and internal environments never reach our servers; only the finished recording is uploaded for editing and rendering.
Open where it matters
The CLI and recorder are open source, so you can audit exactly what runs against your application before you adopt it.

ScreenCI is an independent, bootstrapped company based in Finland. We keep the team small on purpose: the people building the product are the same people who answer support requests and onboard new customers.
